RESOLUTION NO. 7 <br />SERIES 2017 <br />A RESOLUTION AMENDING AND RESTATING THE MEMBERSHIP, GOALS <br />AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BUSINESS RETENTION AND <br />DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has previously organized the Business Retention and <br />Development Committee as an advisory committee of the City Council through Resolution 2007- <br />07 and further amended by Resolutions 2009-18, 2011-50 and 2013-52; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to reorganize this advisory committee of the City <br />Council, to continue as a special committee named the Business Retention and Development <br />Committee; and <br />WHEREAS, City Council by this Resolution desires to set forth certain provisions <br />regarding membership, goals and responsibilities for the Business Retention and Development <br />Committee, which serves as a special committee to the City Council advising on business <br />retention and development topics; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br />Section 1. The Business Retention and Development Committee (the "Committee") <br />shall be an advisory special committee to the City Council. The Committee shall consist of seven <br />(7) members, as follows: <br />Seven at -large members comprised of Louisville residents having business experience <br />or persons who may not be Louisville residents but who own or operate a business in <br />the City <br />One City Council member may be appointed to serve as a liaison to the Committee, at <br />the discretion of the City Council. The liaison is non-voting member of the <br />Committee <br />Appointment or removal of Committee members shall be by an affirmative vote of a majority of the <br />entire City Council. Members shall serve three-year staggered terms and shall serve until <br />successors have been appointed unless sooner removed. To stagger the initial terms of membership, <br />the original membership shall serve as follows: <br />Two (2) appointees shall serve terms that begin on the date of appointment and <br />extend to the end of that calendar year plus one year; <br />Two (2) appointees shall serve terms that begin on the date of appointment and <br />extend to the end of that calendar year plus two years; <br />Three (3) appointees shall serve terms that begin on the date of appointment and <br />extend to the end of that calendar year plus three years. <br />Resolution No. 7, Series 2017 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
