Section 2. The Committee shall serve in an advisory capacity to City Council on <br />matters of interest to the City and City Council concerning business retention and development <br />topics and opportunities. The Committee's goals and responsibilities include, but are not limited <br />to the following: <br />Advise staff and City Council on policies and strategies to enable the City to reach its <br />Business Retention and Development subprogram goals and objectives as set forth in <br />the City budget, with such goals and objectives, as in effect from time to time, to <br />accompany and be attached to this Resolution as Attachment 1. <br />Promote collaboration and communication between the City and the local business <br />community. <br />Share insights regarding local economic conditions. <br />Serve as a sounding board for City opportunities that can promote economic activity <br />Gather information regarding the needs and priorities of businesses with respect to <br />business retention and development issues. <br />Recommend and/or comment on proposed programs related to business retention and <br />development. <br />Monitor Economic Prosperity program key indicators and recommend improvements <br />to move toward or reach key indicator targets. <br />Section 3. The Committee shall have the power to adopt policies and procedures for <br />the conduct of its activities, which shall be consistent with the provisions of the City Charter, <br />ordinances and other applicable law. The Committee shall have the power to determine and <br />appoint its own officers. <br />Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect May 1, 2017 and all appointments made <br />pursuant to Section 1 of this Resolution shall have terms commencing as of such date. <br />Section 5. Upon the effective date of this Resolution, the following resolutions are <br />hereby repealed: Resolution No. 7, Series 2007, Resolution No. 18, Series 2009, Resolution No. <br />50, Series 2011, and Resolution No. 52, Series 20I3. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of February, 2017. <br />1 12 <br />Robert P.
