<br />Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />June 18, 2008 <br />Page 4 of 4 <br /> <br />2. The Commission approved $1,295 to Tim Camps for the construction of a <br />new display case for sale items to be placed at the front entrance of the <br />Museum, so that sales merchandise can be displayed in one place. <br />3. The Commission approved the purchase of new frames for the framed <br />Louisville posters. <br />4. The Colorado History Museum is allowing the sale of the book Italy in <br />Colorado by the Commission and Museum. The Commission approved the <br />purchase of ten books at 40% off the regular sales price. <br />5. The Commission approved the purchase of seventy copies (at $6 each) of <br />Carolyn Conarroe's Louisville Legends and Coal Mining in Colorado's <br />Northern Field, and of additional inventory of The Louisville Story and <br />Louisville Legends that has been ordered and is being printed. <br />6. It was decided not to have a booth at the Fourth of July Celebration. <br />7. The Fundraising Committee will have a planning meeting on June 21, 2008 <br />at 9:00 AM. <br />8. Three homes are confirmed for the Holiday Home Tour. <br />D. Membership <br />1. There have been 73 new paid memberships since January, and no new <br />Business Sponsorships. <br />2. Two complimentary memberships may be given by each Commission <br />member. <br />E. Volunteers - Sally Burlingame and Museum volunteer Mary Kay Knorr <br />attended the recent volunteers' meeting of the Association of Northern Front <br />Range Museums. <br />F. Public Relations - Donna Hauswald reported that The Louisville Times is <br />interested in publishing previous articles from The Louisville Historian. <br />G. ThenlNow Photo Project - The Project will be pursued for the future. Mike <br />Oliver of Oliver Photography, who would be working on the project, recently <br />photographed Louisville Middle School for the Commission and Museum. <br />H. Mine Marker Project <br />1. The number of signs needed for the markers need to be determined. <br />2. The City, with the Historical Commission and Historic Preservation <br />Commission, may be able to apply for a grant to cover costs. <br />3. Anne Robinson will replace Bob Enrietto on this committee. <br /> <br />XI. Chairperson's Report <br />1. Commission Members were reminded to update volunteer time sheets for the <br />second quarter. <br />2. A laptop computer for Commission business has been ordered. <br /> <br />XII. Commission Comments - The Chairperson and staff will continue to review, <br />prioritize and revisit current projects being worked on. A running list of projects will <br />be noted on each agenda. <br /> <br />XIII. Discussion Item For Next Meeting - La Festa event in August <br /> <br />XIII. The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 p.m. <br />
