In addition, Bridget and Mike Oliver of Oliver <br />Photography, a Business Sponsor, extensively photographed the school. <br />F. Diane Marino volunteered to assist at the Museum from 11 to 1 on Saturday, <br />July 5, 2008. <br />G. The summer issue of The Louisville Historian will feature a lead story on <br />William Schutz, who was a photographer working in Louisville. Past contributor <br />Harry Mayor has agreed to the inclusion of a short piece that he wrote about <br />Schutz. <br />H. Bridget reported having recently spent a significant amount of time on historic <br />property research for the City. <br /> <br />x. Committee Reports <br />A. Facility Management <br />1. The Commission discussed the status of different maintenance projects at <br />the Museum campus. <br />2. Don Ross, Alice Koerner, Meredyth Muth, and Bridget Bacon plan to meet <br />with Brian Martella at the Museum site regarding the fence project. <br />3. The painting bids for the Museum buildings were discussed. <br />4. The steps at the front of the Jacoe store will need to be placed from the <br />south with no ramp. The front awnings will need to be adapted to fit over <br />the new steps. Wheelchair access to the Jacoe Store will be from the back <br />door into the Museum Coordinator's office area. Concrete pads at the rear <br />of the property are to be poured at the same time as the steps. <br />5. The Commission is requesting donations for two benches in the garden. <br />Dave Ferguson offered to donate one bench. Donna Hauswald will write a <br />request for the next Louisville Historian. <br />6. Museum campus signage was discussed. One large sign centrally located <br />will include pictures and text. An additional sign will be placed in the front. <br />Signs will also need to be painted on the front and side of the Jacoe Store <br />building. <br />7. Donna Hauswald will contact Elle Cabbage regarding the landscape <br />plaques. <br />8. Bridget Bacon will contact the volunteer who has cared for the rose garden <br />in the past to see if he plans to continue, or if the City should take over its <br />care. <br />9. The crawl space door on the Jordinelli House and the cellar door on the <br />Tomeo House will be replaced as part of the City's maintenance of the <br />Museum buildings. <br />B. Community Education <br />1. The Community Education Committee will meet on July 9, 2008 at 6:30 PM <br />in the Library Conference Room. <br />2. An article by Diane Marino relating to the oral history project will be <br />included in the next Louisville Historian. <br />C. Events and Fundraising <br />1. There were 135 visitors at the Museum during A Taste of Louisville. Five <br />people were awarded free Society memberships. Virginia Caranci, Pat <br />Seader, and Aline Steinbaugh were acknowledged for their efforts in <br />making pizzelles for the public outside the Museum. Other Commission <br />members and Museum volunteers also helped staff the Museum that day. <br />
