<br />Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />July 16, 2008 <br />Page 3 of 3 <br /> <br />Volunteer interviewers as well as people interested in being interviewed are <br />being sought. <br />C. Events and Fundraising <br />1. La Festa: The Commission will set up in one of the provided booths. Sean <br />Moynihan and Diane Marino volunteered to work at the booth. There will be <br />a membership drawing. <br />2. Silent Auction Update: It was noted that the auction may be smaller this <br />year due to the state of the economy. Pictures of items will be used the first <br />two days, with actual items displayed on Labor Day. Final bidding must be <br />completed by 3:00 p.m. Items may be picked up after 3:00 PM. Regular <br />sales merchandise will also be sold. <br />3. December 6th Home Tour: Three homes have been confirmed and two <br />additional invitations have been made. Commission members made <br />suggestions of additional homeowners for Bridget Bacon to approach, if <br />needed. <br />4. The display case for sales merchandise at the Museum is being <br />constructed. <br />5. The next Fundraising Committee meeting is August 2nd, 9 AM, Recreation <br />Center Paramount Room. <br />D. Membership <br />1. There have been 73 new memberships since January and no new <br />Business Sponsorships. <br />2. Avista Adventist Hospital will be given a complimentary Business <br />Sponsorship as a thank-you for sponsoring the Walking Tour brochure. <br />3. Commission members have two complimentary memberships to give to <br />persons of their choice. <br />4. Follow-up postcards will be sent to all who entered the membership <br />encouraging them to join as Society members. <br />5. The possibility of offering a discount on merchandise to Society members <br />was discussed. <br /> <br />XI. Chairperson's Report - Commission members were reminded to update volunteer <br />time sheets. <br /> <br />XII. Commission Comments <br />A. The August meeting date has been changed to Wednesday, August 27th. <br />B. Sally Burlingame will contact volunteers for the Fall Festival <br /> <br />XIII. The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 PM. <br />
