Meeting Room Policy <br /> <br />Anne reported that some administrative procedures had been revised to mitigate <br />problems with use of the audiovisual equipment available in the meeting rooms. Some <br />new wording reflecting this change in procedure was presented to the Board and a brief <br />discussion followed. <br /> <br />After some minor revisions to the proposed wording, the Board unanimously agreed to <br />adopt the changes and reissue the policy. <br /> <br />New versions of the policy will be distributed to all public desks in the Library and posted <br />to the Library website. <br /> <br />B. City Council Study Session - April 8, 2008 @ 7:00 pm <br />1) Presentation of 2008 Strategic Plan by Library Board of Trustees <br /> <br />After City Manager Malcolm Fleming thoroughly reviewed the adopted plan, he <br />suggested some revisions. <br /> <br />Based on Malcolm's comments, Anne prepared revisions that were reviewed by <br />the Board. The Board unanimously agreed to accept the changes, with some <br />qualifications and rewording, and re-adopt the plan. <br /> <br />C. City Council Study Session - May 13, 2008 @ 7:00 pm <br /> <br />1) Discussion with City Council and the City Manager regarding the Board's short- <br />term and long-term plans, as well as annual goals and work plans <br /> <br />Anne explained that for the purpose of expanding citizen communication and <br />public involvement, City Council has a renewed focus to meet with all Boards <br />and Commissions on an annual basis. <br /> <br />It was not clear to the Board whether this session is for discussion or to present <br />documentation related to goals and work plans of the Board. Anne will follow- <br />up with Malcolm on this issue. <br /> <br />After discussion, all members agreed to reschedule the May 15 meeting to May <br />1 and for this meeting to serve as a planning session for the Board's meeting <br />with City Council on May 13. <br /> <br />9. Director's Report <br /> <br />A. Statistics <br /> <br />Anne noted that Library circulation transactions are up significantly over the same period <br />in 2007. <br />
