Resolution Draft <br />Building Code Board of Appeals <br />May 15, 2008 <br />RESOLUTION No. 1, SERIES 2008 <br />A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE BUILDING CODE BOARD <br />OF APPEALS RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE ADOPT <br />POLICIES ENCOURAGING "GRE:EN BUILDING" FOR BATH RESIDENTIAL <br />AND COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION IN AN EFFORT TO IMPROVE THE <br />CITY'S ENERGY AND RESOURCE CONSERVATION. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville Buiilding Code Board of Appeals desires to improve <br />the "Gr~.en Building "practices of both residential and commercial construction within <br />the City of Louisville, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville Buiilding Code Board of Appeals desires to improve <br />the energy and resource conservation o:f both residential and commercial construction <br />with in the City of Louisville, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville Building Code Board of Appeals joins with the <br />Boulder County Consortium of Cities and`endorses the Boulder County Energy Task <br />Force's following mission~statement: Recognvzing that we face the threats and <br />opportunities of an uncertain energy future,'`The Boulder County Consortium of Cities <br />seeks to create an energy secure, climate safe, and economically vibrant society by <br />encouraging and enabling our communities to increase energy efficiency, make use of <br />renewable energy, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions: and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville has previously adopted the 2003 International Energy <br />Conservation Code, complying with,the State of Colorado mandate of Energy Code <br />adoption. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville has previously adopted the 2003 International <br />Building Code, the 2003 International Residential Code, the 2003 International Plumbing <br />Code, The 2003 Fuel Gas Code, The 2003 Mechanical Code, and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville specifically the Building Safety Division has no <br />current funding or manpower to implennent a "Green Building" program, and <br />WHEREAS, there is not a County wide accepted "Green Building" program, and <br />
