Policy NE-6.7: The City will promote diversion from the landfill of <br />construction and demolition refuse. <br />Policy NE-6.8: For any new or sizeable redevelopment of single family, <br />multi-family, commercial or industrial facilities, the City shall require equal <br />space be designated for recycling and trash facilities. <br />Principle NE-7: Protect and preserve natural resources. <br />Policy NE-7.1: The City shall identify biologically and/or aesthetically <br />valuable or irreplaceable areas remaining within the City and on land <br />considered for future annexation and seek to preserve those areas in <br />perpetuity. New development and the expansion of existing activities shall <br />be restricted and regulated whf:re environmental damage may result. <br />Policy NE-7.2: The City will ensure that development surrounding <br />environmentally-sensitive areas does not pollute, alter, or otherwise harm <br />those protected areas. <br />Policy NE-7.3: The City will preserve and protect Coal Creek and other <br />water bodies as irreplaceable community assets. <br />Policy NE-7.4: The City will strongly encourage the protection and <br />preservation of healthy, mature trees of desirable species. <br />Policy NE-7.5: The City will adhere to the Colorado Noxious Weed Act and <br />eradicate all plants on its own property identified by the State's A-list. The <br />City will use non-toxic, biological or manual controls wherever feasible. The <br />City will also instruct its residents to eradicate invasive species on their <br />private properties. <br />Policy NE-7.6: The City will help residents identify resources that can <br />provide information on native and non-invasive drought-resistant plants <br />appropriate for landscaping. <br />Policy NE-7.7: The City will support the protection and creation of natural <br />corridors linking biologically critical areas. <br />
