Cultural Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />16 February 2017 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />(Jennifer) - available for anyone to drop in <br />o 3-12 Altius postponed to October 8 (Jennifer) <br />o 3-17 Amelie (Liz) - wants the stage at the Arts Center. Will include <br />a small nod to St Patricks Day. - To help: Blake, Adam, Maybe <br />Gina and Sean <br />o 11-8 Mars lecture (Debbie) - "soft yes" from proposed speaker <br />o 11-12 Boulder Chorale for Fall - Requesting -20 members to <br />perform <br />• Summer Concerts (Adam) - Still finalizing list for bands and juggling <br />dates; sound will be upgraded to be appropriate for outdoor venue. <br />Negotiating rates for artists at $1000/artist. Katie: City is working food <br />trucks for events <br />• Housekeeping: Arts Center Construction status and keys (Emily) - <br />Jennifer - construction done, working on storage and getting keys. <br />Entrance codes are all the same. <br />Arts Grants 2017 - <br />• After discussion, the council voted to award 2017 Arts Grants to the <br />following: <br />o Tapestry Theater young adult production of Elf, Jr. $1,200 <br />o Motus Theater, "Let's All Be Americans Now" $1,200 <br />o Dona Laurita, "Silhouette: Stories of Immigration" $1,200 <br />o Janine Kehlenbach, "Jacques Brel is Alive and Well <br />And Living in Paris" $ 900 <br />o Chip Ross, "Louisville Sings: Vocal Jazz" $ 600 <br />• The Council conducted further discussion on offering use of the Arts <br />Center for un -funded applicants. <br />• Debbie, Angie, Blake, Liz, and Jennifer were assigned to call grant <br />awardees in the near term. Jennifer will handle remaining notifications. <br />Further details will be provided to awardees in writing. <br />Discussion Items for Next Meeting - 16 March 2017: <br />• Changes to cash box procedures for events <br />• Discussion on social media impacts and involvement <br />-- For approval -- <br />
