This project will serve the entire Louisville community. <br />What are the goals of your community for this project?" <br />The Sustainability Action Plan establishes the following goals for the City of Louisville: reduce energy consumption, <br />increase use of clean energy and transition away from fossil fuels; provide ongoing leadership for water efficiency and <br />water quality efforts to ensure sufficient, clean water for current and future generations; encourage more fuel -efficient <br />transportation and infrastructure and support healthier and active lifestyles for the community through increased <br />multimodal options; increase waste diversion, striving for a goal of zero -waste and manage material resources <br />responsibly and effectively; and ensure sustainable, safe and healthy food supply that is accessible to all and supported <br />by the community. <br />In order to accomplish these goals, potential tasks for the sustainability consultant include: assisting with prioritization <br />of Sustainability Action Plan goals; coordinating community education and outreach; developing partnerships; evaluating <br />effectiveness of projects and programs; determining infrastructure needs; implementing Xcel's Partners in Energy <br />program; providing support for long-range planning and policy development; incorporating sustainable practices in City <br />operations; ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental regulations; identifying costs and benefits of <br />initiatives; researching and applying for grants; recommending green products for use; applying for energy efficiency <br />rebates; and answering questions from the community. <br />What environmental sustainability benefits The City of Louisville currently does not have a staff member that is able <br />will your protect provide to the local to focus solely on sustainability-related projects and programs.
