LCitvof Om Louisville PARKS & RECREATION Memorandum To: Open Space Advisory Board From: Kathy Martin, Superintendent of Recreation and Services Date: April 12, 2017 Re: RecreationiSenior Center and Memory Square Project Summary: The City of Louisville plans to renovate and expand the Louisville RecreationlSenior Center and Memory Square Pool. Construction of the RecreationiSenior Center will begin in the Fall of 2017 with estimated completion in late fall of 2018. Construction of the Memory Square Pool project will begin after Labor Day 2017 and will be completed by Memorial Day 2018. For this project the bathhouse will be torn down and rebuilt, the baby pool will be rebuilt, and the deck will be enlarged to the east. The PLAT/PUD application was submitted to the City in March and staff has the following comments: Recreationl Senior Center: 1. Staff recommends avoiding new landscaping on the northeast corner of the building (or on the north end of the Power line trail) in anticipation of a proposed trail realignment with the wayfmding project. 2. Staff recommends adding a curb cut to the parking lot for easy access to the trail and striping of the parking lot for safety where the primary trail connects to the south side of the Recreation Center parking lot. Memory Square Pool: No staff action is requested on Memory Square Pool at this time but comments are welcome as the project team continues to work on the details of this project. OSAB Action Requested: Parks and Recreation Department staff are requesting review and comment by the Open Space Advisory Board (OSAB).
