Call to Order- Helen called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. <br />II. Roll Call - <br />Board Members Present: Helen Moshak, Laura Scott Denton, Linda Smith, Missy <br />Davis, Graeme Patterson, Jim Gibb, Fiona Garvin <br />Board Members Absent: Mike Schantz <br />City Council Members Present: Jeff Lipton <br />Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull, Joe Stevens <br />III. Approval of Agenda - <br />Laura moved to approve the agenda as written. Linda seconded. The motion <br />was passed unanimously. <br />IV. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes - <br />Linda moved to approve the minutes as written Jim seconded. The motion was <br />passed unanimously. <br />V. Staff Updates - <br />A. Upcoming City Council Meetings: <br />March 14th: Acquisition Study Session (Council's packet includes Missy & <br />Chris' memo and the OSAB target list) <br />March 21st: BOCO Trail and Property Request to Boulder County. <br />Council will review and make recommendations/approve the documents <br />OSAB produced at the February meeting. <br />B. The new Open Space maintenance employee has been hired. Kevin Pierce <br />began two weeks ago. Ember mentioned Kevin's excellent experience with equipment <br />and field work. <br />C. Staff have received 150 applications for the Open Space ranger position. <br />They will narrow down the field and hold 12 phone interviews this week. They plan to <br />conduct six in-person interviews the week after. <br />D. Staff worked with the Planning department to provide feedback on the map of <br />the US Hwy 36 Bikeway. They suggested emphasizing the intersections between the <br />Bikeway and the "primary" trails of the Louisville trail network. <br />E. The wayfinding tiger team worked to select/prioritize trail sections for <br />improvement in the 2017/2018 budget, and staff will send those selections out for <br />design. Ember put a notice in the April Rec. Center Catalog to alert the public about the <br />wayfinding/trail improvement process. <br />F. Staff is submitting Youth Corp project proposals to Boulder County and the <br />Corps will start in June. <br />G. Joe told the board that negotiations for the Mayhoffer property along Hwy. 42 <br />are continuing. The current feeling among staff is optimistic/realistic.
