Citv0j' Louisville COLORADO SINCE 1878 Open Space Advisory Board Meeting Minutes Wednesday, March 8th, 2017, 7:00 pm Louisville Public Library: First Floor Meeting Room 951 Spruce Street I. Call to Order- Helen called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm. II. Roll Call - Board Members Present: Helen Moshak, Laura Scott Denton, Linda Smith, Missy Davis, Graeme Patterson, Jim Gibb, Fiona Garvin Board Members Absent: Mike Schantz City Council Members Present: Jeff Lipton Staff Members Present: Ember Brignull, Joe Stevens III. Approval of Agenda - Laura moved to approve the agenda as written. Linda seconded. The motion was passed unanimously. IV. Approval of Previous Meeting's Minutes - Linda moved to approve the minutes as written Jim seconded. The motion was passed unanimously. V. Staff Updates - A. Upcoming City Council Meetings: March 14th: Acquisition Study Session (Council's packet includes Missy & Chris' memo and the OSAB target list) March 21st: BOCO Trail and Property Request to Boulder County. Council will review and make recommendations/approve the documents OSAB produced at the February meeting. B. The new Open Space maintenance employee has been hired. Kevin Pierce began two weeks ago. Ember mentioned Kevin's excellent experience with equipment and field work. C. Staff have received 150 applications for the Open Space ranger position. They will narrow down the field and hold 12 phone interviews this week. They plan to conduct six in-person interviews the week after. D. Staff worked with the Planning department to provide feedback on the map of the US Hwy 36 Bikeway. They suggested emphasizing the intersections between the Bikeway and the "primary" trails of the Louisville trail network. E. The wayfinding tiger team worked to select/prioritize trail sections for improvement in the 2017/2018 budget, and staff will send those selections out for design. Ember put a notice in the April Rec. Center Catalog to alert the public about the wayfinding/trail improvement process. F. Staff is submitting Youth Corp project proposals to Boulder County and the Corps will start in June. G. Joe told the board that negotiations for the Mayhoffer property along Hwy. 42 are continuing. The current feeling among staff is optimistic/realistic. It is Joe's hope that he will have something to report in the next 6-8 weeks.
