TIMES - 10/7/92 & 10/14/92) <br /> <br />Griffiths read by title only Ordinance No. 1085, Series 1992, "An <br />ordinance amending Title 6 of the Louisville Municipal Code <br />relating to animals." <br /> <br />Susan Griffiths, City Attorney, commented that the proposed <br />amendments to the City's animal control ordinances are designed to <br />provide for more effective enforcement of the existing ordinances, <br />animals running at large, and noisy animals. Also, the amendments <br />to the animal control ordinances impose new requirements limiting <br />the number of dogs and cats which may be maintained on any one <br />premises, except in the agricultural district on which there are no <br />limits. There is a new requirement in the ordinance prohibiting <br />the keeping of certain wild, exotic, dangerous animals. She stated <br />that a change in the ordinance that expands the current ordinance <br />prohibiting cruelty to animals is to limit that to cruelty by any <br />person. <br /> <br />Davidson called for anyone in the audience who wished to speak in <br />favor or against Ordinance No. 1085. <br /> <br />NONE <br /> <br />Davidson closed the Public Hearing and called for Council comments. <br /> <br />Howard: <br /> <br />I understand that when you enumerate <br />the wild, exotic, dangerous animals, <br />that is the only group that is <br />prohibited? <br /> <br />Griffiths: <br /> <br />That's correct.
