Youth Advisory Board
Agenda
DATE
• Please spread the word about the signs to friends and
family. The Walk Your City site keeps track of how many
times the QR codes get scanned.
VII. Other Boards and Commissions – No one visited any other boards or
commissions. We discussed the fact that visiting other meetings needs to be a
stronger priority next year. We talked about using Sign Up Genius more often in
the future to let people choose specific meetings to go to in small groups.
VIII. Discussion Items
• Applying for YAB next year if you’ve reached the end of your term –
We talked about the possibility of having a meeting over the
summer with current members in order to touch base on the
walkability signs, and the possibility of getting the application
process rolling a bit sooner for new members. Current members
could help market YAB to their peers and encourage new people to
apply. Jay and Jessica also mentioned that they thought it might be
beneficial to start meeting earlier in the school year (August or
September rather than October) so we have more time to work on
projects.
• We also discussed potentially having bimonthly meetings. The
second meeting of each month could be for officers only. This
would allow us to communicate more efficiently, and spread the
workload out more evenly.
IX. Comments from Liaisons – Jay mentioned that the Historic Commission is
interested in possibly working with YAB next year.
X. Adjourn – Chairperson Kaylix McClure adjourned the meeting at 6:55 pm
