Both the <br />volunteers and the person receiving services will benefit <br />from this partnership. <br />Books on Wheels - to bring books to your doorstep if you <br />cannot get to the library <br />Financial Assistance Grants -provide financial aid to <br />income-eligible seniors for Xcel Energy bills, Rec/Senior <br />program. activity assistance and qualified emergencies <br />Friendly phone calls -for reminders to take medications, <br />appointments, orjust to chat! <br />Medical Equipment Loans -for those in need of short- <br />term loan of walkers, bath benches, crutches and <br />wheelchairs <br />Snow shoveling & yard work - to help with basic snow <br />removal or yard work <br />Transportation - to/from local medical and dental <br />appointments for those unable to drive <br />if you, or anyone you know, could use <br />these services, please call us today! <br />(303) 335-4919 <br />60+ PROPERTY TAX WORKOFF <br />Work off the Boulder County portion of your property <br />taxes. This program is a great way to help your local <br />community while working off your property taxes. <br />Call Carrie Have~eld at (303) 441-1688. <br />MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM <br />Special Transit will reimburse registered clients at the rate <br />of $.42 per mile for pre-authorized trips provided by <br />family members, friends, neighbors or others using their <br />own private automobiles. The program is not intended to <br />reimburse passengers for trips they already rely on family <br />or friends to provide. It is up to the passenger to find and <br />arrange transportation provided under this program. For <br />more information on program policies and procedures, <br />contact Special Transit at (303) 447-9636. <br />MOCK JURORS NEEDED <br />NITA Education Center: July 18, 23, 25, 26 <br />NITA is a continuing education provider and trains <br />lawyers. Serving as a juror may inolve jury selection, <br />focus groups, critiqueing statement and closing <br />arguments.
