City Council
Study Session Summary
July 8, 2008
Page 5 of6

City Manager Fleming asked what the total cost estimate for all the properties on
the list. Ms. Brignull said that she did not know that the OSAB purposely does not
look at the prices to keep the selection process more objective.

City Manager Malcolm said that the City is hoping to incorporate the underpass
at Takoda with the drainage way expansion that will be needed for the
FasTrack's project. The City would get the funding through FasTracks but would
include a pedestrian underpass. City Manager Fleming said that the City does
not know the development plan of ConocoPhillips at this point in time, but that
there has been discussion about using natural and native plants for landscaping.

Mr. Davinroy said that safe pedestrian crossings at open space areas were a
concern for OSAB. Councilor Muckle said that a previous Study Session there
had been a discussion with Public Works and Chief Bruce Goodman. Councilor
Muckle said that Chief Goodman indicated that the police were going to be
patrolling the crossings more to insure pedestrian safety.

Councilor Clabots asked if the OSAB would be using the Boulder County Youth
Corp for removing Russian Olive again this year. Ms. Brignull said not this year,
that they were using the Youth Corp for other projects. She said there was an
80% regrowth of what was removed last year. Ms. Brignull said that Parks will be
removing the regrowth and then expand to other areas.

5. City Manager Items-
City Manager Malcolm Fleming informed Council that Anne Mojo, Library Director
submitted a retirement letter. Director Mojo has originally asked for her retirement
to be effective mid-August, but City Manager Fleming requested that she give the
City more time to find a replacement. Director Mojo graciously agreed that in the
end of August she will begin working 30 hour weeks and plan to retire in mid-
December.

City Manager Fleming reviewed the Advance Agenda.

City Manager Fleming said that photos have been coming in for the Life in
Louisville Contest and that the winner would be announced at the August 5th
meeting. Mayor Pro Tem Marsella said that she had agreed to on the selection
committee but she will be out of town. Councilor Frost Yarnell said that she would
be happy to take her place on the selection committee.

Councilor Dalton asked whose idea it was to have this contest. City Manager
Fleming said that he couldn't take complete credit for it that it was a contest that
they had in Bellingham.

Councilor Clabots thought it would be great to have the pictures on display at Fall
Festival.
