He noted an underpass or anything else is not likely to be <br />completed in the next five years due to funding constraints <br />Councilmember Maloney stated the new signs do give some immediate help to people <br />crossing South Boulder Road and he would also support a parallel study. <br />Carlos Hernandez, 279 Chestnut Street, stated this is an issue for all of town He stated <br />safety is the number one criteria. An underpass can be built anywhere with the nght <br />design There is Federal money to be leveraged for an underpass We should spend the <br />$50,000 for the study It is all about safety. <br />John Leary, 1116 Lafarge Avenue, noted the main issue from the public for the South <br />Boulder Road Small Area Plan was connectivity. An underpass is what people want. <br />Mayor Muckle asked Council if the consensus is to direct staff is to do both the signs <br />and continue with the underpass study. Members stated yes <br />Councilmember Keany requested the new signs be installed this summer before school <br />starts if the money can be found. <br />Councilmember Stolzmann asked staff to bring back a budget amendment to pay for the <br />signs if it is needed and to do a budget amendment for the full study. Members agreed. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 27, SERIES 2017 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A FINAL <br />PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT FOR A 13,850 SQUARE FOOT COMMERCIAL <br />BUILDING AND A FINAL SUBDIVISION PLAT TO VACATE THE EXISTING LOT <br />LINES AND CREATE TWO LOTS; LOTS 8, 9, AND 10, TOWN OF LOUISVILLE <br />SUBDIVISION — 608-624 MAIN STREET <br />Planner Dean stated 608 Main St. (Lot 8) is a 6,519 square foot lot that is currently the <br />site of a 1,920 square -foot office building constructed in 1974 612 and 624 Main St <br />(Lots 9 and 10), which total 13,438 square feet, is the former location of the Blue Parrot <br />parking lot The City recently purchased these lots, which are now used for public <br />parking. All three lots were platted under the Town of Louisville Subdivision plat. All lots <br />are zoned Community Commercial (CC), are within the Old Town Overlay Distnct and <br />lie within the area defined by the Louisville Municipal Code as the central business <br />district. <br />Planner Dean stated the Developer submitted an application for a Final PUD to build a <br />13,850 square -foot two-story commercial building The above -grade floor area is 9,250 <br />square feet, including 5,300 square feet on the main floor and 3,950 square feet on the <br />upper floor The applicant proposes retail and office spaces on the main level and office <br />spaces on the upper levels for the owner's company <br />
