Louisville City Council Meeting <br />January 6, 2004 <br />Page 11 of 12 <br /> <br />Public Works Director Tom Phare reported the City received an offer to purchase 68 <br />units of CBT at an agreed upon price of $11,000 per unit, for a total of $748,000, <br />including $20,000 earnest deposit in escrow. Staff is requesting authorization to have the <br />Mayor and City Clerk execute the agreement on behalf of the City. He explained it is a <br />standard purchase agreement with one addition, which provides that if a signed contract <br />is not retumed to the City by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2004, the contract will <br />expire. He requested approval of the CBT contract for 68 Units, at an amount not to <br />exceed $11,000 per unit. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Sisk moved that Council authorize the Mayor to execute a <br />contract to purchase 68 Units of CBT, at an amount not to exceed $11,000 per unit, with <br />$20,000 eamest deposit, and the offer will expire at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 8, <br />2004, seconded by Council member Levihn. Roll call was taken. The motion passed <br />with six affirmative votes. Council member Keany abstained from voting. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1435, SERIES 2003/RESOLUTION NO. 3, SERIES 2004 <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons reported the Council agenda did not include Ordinance No. <br />1435, Series 2003, and Resolution No. 3, Series 2004, regarding the purchase contract to <br />buy and sell vacant real estate for park and right-of-way purposes. He requested this <br />matter be continued to the January 20, 2004 meeting. <br /> <br />City Attorney Sam Light requested a motion sending the ordinance out for re-publication <br />and setting a public hearing for January 20, 2004. <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Keany moved that Council send Ordinance No. 1435, Series <br />2003 out for publication and set a public heating for January 20, 2004, seconded by <br />Council member Van Pelt. All in favor. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons reported that 2004 would be a very busy year for capital <br />construction. He reviewed the projects already under construction are the Police and <br />Municipal Court Building; the Highway 42/96th Street Connection; the reuse'water line, <br />and the rehabilitation of the water and circulation system of Memory Square Pool. The <br />new capital projects are the new Library, Community Park, the Skateboard Park, the <br />parking lot at McCaslin Interchange, and improvements to the City Shops. <br /> <br />Simmons called for Staff reports. <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br /> <br />
