Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />May 3, 2017 <br />Page 3 of 5 <br />Commission and Historical Commission and made plans for a letter to go from the <br />Commission to City Council. <br />B. Plan for Commission input at upcoming City Council meetings: <br />i. Tuesday, June 13 Council meeting (expected to be 1st reading): <br />At the first reading, there is not expected to be specific discussion and <br />comments, but Commission members are encouraged to attended and <br />speak during the public comment section. <br />ii. Wednesday, July 5 Council meeting (expected to be 2"d reading): <br />Commission members are encouraged to attend the reading to give input on <br />the ballot language during the public comments section. <br />C. Proposal to change the July Commission meeting date to the previous <br />Wednesday (June 28th) or a different date. The meeting currently schedule for <br />July 5th, and the Commission previously determined that there will be a quorum for <br />this meeting. However, it was learned that this is the date currently scheduled for <br />a reading of the ballot language with respect to the continuation of the Historic <br />Preservation Tax.: The Commission decided to keep the July 5th meeting date, but <br />start the meeting at 6:00 P.M. and meet in the Spruce Room at City Hall, if possible, <br />so that Commission members can attend and speak at the part of the City Council <br />meeting regarding the ballot language for the Historic Preservation Tax continuation. <br />VIII. Process for conceptual design of new Visitor Center building: <br />A. Public meeting for the architectural firm of Roybal Corporation to present <br />three conceptual designs and for the public to give feedback scheduled for <br />June 14th, 6-8 PM, City Council Chambers: <br />Commission members are encouraged to attend and talk about the designs <br />with the public. <br />B. Scheduling of joint meeting with the Historic Preservation Commission for <br />the purpose of discussing the conceptual designs: The Commission decided <br />that June 28th would work for a joint meeting. <br />C. Decision of whether an additional Commission meeting should be added <br />for the purpose of discussing the conceptual designs: <br />No additional meeting planned. <br />IX.
