Revitalization Commission <br />Minutes <br />June 12, 2017 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Business Matters of Commission <br />DELO Update <br />Economic Development Director Aaron DeJong said one business is open in Delo Plaza, <br />more to follow. <br />Nawatny Greenway arbors are going up. Micro units have been leased. Downtown is <br />the amenity renters are looking for. <br />DELO Lofts Funding Request <br />Commissioner Menaker suggested it would be useful to schedule a tour of the project. <br />DeJong said Foundry Builders is asking for bond increase to help facilitate Delo Lofts <br />projects. DeJong described table in the packet. DeJong described trade-offs which are in <br />the packet. Chair Fisher asked about debt service. Commissioner Menaker said he <br />agrees with DeJong that there is not enough time to pay for bonds. Alex Carlson will <br />provide a table to present at a future meeting. Soils reports have been provided. Labor <br />market remains tight. <br />Item will be scheduled at a future meeting when more information will be available. <br />South Street Gateway Plaque <br />Draft of plaque to be placed at the South Street Pedestrian Gateway was reviewed. <br />Comments included: <br />Take Mayors off Revitalization Commission list. <br />Remove "Funded by." <br />Change "City of Louisville" to "Louisville City Council." <br />DeJong asked Cultural Arts and Special Events Coordinator Katie Zoss for assistance <br />on placement of plaque and grand opening. Most of the public infrastructure and parking <br />lot should be complete by time of grand opening. <br />Staff Updates <br />608 Main Street <br />Approved by Council on June 6, 2017. Three new retail spots in Urban Renewal area <br />once constructed. <br />Highway 42 <br />Public Works will pursue other opportunities for detention. This may come back to LRC <br />for further discussion. <br />South Street Gateway Landscaping <br />Reduced landscaping design went to PPLAB for review. There were concerns about <br />density of design. PPLAB would like to see a less labor intense design. PPLAB will send <br />a letter to Council and LRC. Chair Fisher is concerned that the plan was changed and no <br />one brought this to LRC. It will be designed at a 15% reduction. The reason it did not <br />4 <br />
