Louisville City Council Meeting <br />January 20, 2004 <br />Page 11 ofll <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Keany informed Council that Representative Mitchell is proposing a bill <br />that would limit the eminent domain power of municipalities. He noted the bill may have <br />an impact on the powers of an Urban Renewal Authority. He asked if Council is <br />interested in contacting legislators relative to the issue. <br /> <br />Council member Levihn reported on the Senior Advisory Board meeting and their goals <br />for the upcoming year. He also reported on the first public meeting on the new <br />Community Park. He stated the meeting was very well attended and the two predominant <br />issues discussed were dog runs and the amount of parking. <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Keany reported the Youth Advisory Board volunteered two hours on <br />January 19th to spend time with the residents at Wellspring. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons followed up with issue raised by Mayor Pro Tem Keany relative <br />to the Mitchell bill. He asked Council to support Staff in their efforts to notify legislators <br />relative to the City's concern over the bill. He reported the City will begin to advertise for <br />members of the Urban Renewal Authority. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reported on a Saturday, January 17th Metro MayOrs meeting, where the <br />Mitchell bill was discussed. He stated the bill could impact the City's proposed Highway <br />42 Revitalization Project. He noted other discussions relative to the urban metro area <br />were very positive. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />MOTION: <br />Co~[rile~ber Van Pelt.
