He stated the City has resident and non-resident fees, and a price break in the <br />opening and closing cost. He noted the 2004 fee adjustment has not been made. <br /> <br />Council discussion: Mayor Pro Tem Keany reported on receiving calls relative to infant <br />burials. He noted some communities have a reduced rate for infant burial plots. He <br />suggested Council consider reduced rates for infant burials for Louisville residents. <br />Council member Van Pelt asked for clarification that infant plots would be available only <br />if a plot was divided. City Manager Simmons confirmed her statement, and noted infant <br />burial plots would be included in the cemetery expansion. Mayor Pro Tem Keany <br />suggested the Finance Committee review this matter. Mayor Sisk suggested a reduced <br />rate for children under the age of 18 years, and that the matter be addressed soon. <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons called for Staff reports. Assistant City Manager for <br />Governmental Relations Heather Balser reminded Council of the EIS meeting on <br />Thursday, January 22, 2004, at 7:30 a.m., in the Council Chambers. <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons addressed the 2004 Street Reconstruction Program. He <br />reported Staff is reviewing traffic mitigation, and a traffic calming program for the City, <br />which entails identifying problems, construction techniques, preliminary work and <br />establishing dates and resources. He asked Public Works Director Tom Phare to review <br />the general street program. <br /> <br />Public <br /> · <br /> · <br /> · <br /> · <br /> · <br /> · <br /> <br />Works Director Phare stated the focus for reconstruction would be the following: <br />Rex and Parkview Street - commencing after the bypass is completed <br />Portions of South and Short Street, and between Main Street and Lincoln Avenue <br />Curbs and gutters along Front and Roosevelt along the Community Park site <br />From Lois to West Street <br />Tyler, Via Appia to Washington, and sections of Cherry Street <br />Via Appia with respect to traffic conclusions on crossing issues <br /> <br />Mayor Pro Tem Keany stated he would prefer to see the study on pedestrian crossings <br />before any decision is made on improvements to Via Appia. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> · <br /> <br /> · <br /> <br /> · <br /> <br />Sisk reminded Council the January 26th study session agenda includes: <br />Discussion with the City Attorney <br />Meeting with Louisville Housing Authority <br />Meeting with DRCOG <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons reported Boulder County has had discussions with Grand County <br />relative to developing a mutual planning document that would have each County act as <br />the official referral agency. The boundaries would go from the continental divide to the <br />western limits of the City of Boulder. He noted the City's concern centers on the <br />potential impact to the City's raw water collection facilities. Public Works Director Phare <br />stated the hearing was postponed for six months at the request of Grand County. <br /> <br />10 <br /> <br /> <br />
