Cto Louisville COLORADO - SINCE h 78 City Council Study Session Summary May 23, 2017 Library Meeting Room, 951 Spruce Street 7:00 PM The City Council met in a study session at 7:00 p.m. in the 1st Floor Meeting Room at the Louisville Public Library at 951 Spruce Street, Louisville, Colorado. The following persons were present: City Council Present: Staff Present: Mayor Bob Muckle Council member Jay Keany Council member Susan Loo Council member Ashley Stolzmann Malcolm Fleming, City Manager Heather Balser, Deputy City Manager Joe Stevens, Parks and Recreation Director Rob Zuccaro, Planning and Building Safety Director Dawn Burgess, Executive Assistant to the City Manager Call to Order— The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Mayor Muckle Discussion — Recreation Advisory Board Options Director Joe Stevens said discussion of a potential Recreation Advisory Board was placed on the agenda at Council request for consideration. Mayor Muckle is in favor of a Recreation Board that covers recreation and golf but is unsure if seniors and horticulture??? should be folded in. Council member Susan Loo said the Parks and Public Landscaping Advisory Board (PPLAB) is working on public land management policy. That issue will lose momentum if they are rolled into a Recreation board. They are working on land issues. Council member Loo said she has heard from tennis people that they feel they have been left out of the recreation conversation. Stevens said there are new courts in Centennial. Seniors may not want to be part of recreation board. Council member Loo believes Youth Advisory Board (YAB) should not be rolled in when you consider original mission of YAB. City Manager Malcolm Fleming said seniors are already independent of the City and not a City board.
