The other <br />option being moving the museum to be within the Library's Department. <br />C. The preservation sales tax ballot issue has been placed on the November <br />election ballot. <br />D. Applications for serving on the Historical Commission are due to City Council <br />by November 3rd. Interviews will be held in November. <br />E. Fall Open Government training dates will be announced soon. Each <br />Commission member is required to attend the training once every two years. <br />VIII. Museum Coordinator's Report <br />A. Deeds of Gifts <br />1. Cassandra Volpe: Menus from Beverly's Restaurant and other items from <br />Louisville businesses. <br />2. Chuck Waneka: Antique drill press from the Fischer family construction <br />company; scans of old letters from the Eggleston family. <br />3. Doug Paxton and John Paxton: School photo of old Louisville Elementary <br />(formerly in Memory Square Park) <br />4. Grace and Jack Dionigi: Steinbaugh Lumber Company flag and apron; <br />photo of John Bosko and account of his WWII military service and <br />mission; and other historic photos of Louisville. <br />5. Scott Lawless: blow torch of the type used in Louisville <br />6. Deed of Gift from Louisville Middle School will be presented at the next <br />meeting. <br />B. Correspondence <br />1. Thank you from Louisville Preschool's summer camp <br />2. Historical publications/magazine <br />C. Visitor's Report and Tours <br />1. July visitors - 151 <br />2. Year to date - 724 <br />D. Activity Report <br />1. New sales display case is installed <br />2. Boulder Magazine's fall issue will feature fashions photographed at the <br />Museum. <br />3. Institute of Museum and Library Services has awarded the Museum a set <br />of books and DVD on historical conservation valued at over $800 based <br />upon an application by Bridget Bacon. <br />E. Anne Robinson will volunteer at the Museum on September 6th from 11-1. <br />F. Louisville Historian, Summer 2008 Issue was discussed <br />G. Louisville Historian printing expenditures have increased. The Commission <br />approved increasing the printing cost allowance to $600 per issue. <br />1. There will be further discussion regarding the possibility of giving <br />members the option of emailing or mailing hard copies. <br />2. It was suggested that members be asked for email addresses with <br />membership renewals for communication purposes. <br />IX. Committee Reports <br />A. Facility Management <br />1. Pads have been placed for the Museum's trash can and the safe being <br />kept outdoors. <br />
