City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 8, 2008 <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />D. Approval to Set City Council Special Joint Meeting on January 14, <br />2008, 6:30 PM with the Louisville Revitalization Commission <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />Billy O'Donnell, 247 Hoover Court, Louisville, CO addressed the preservation of <br />the Louisville Middle School I-listoric Facade and voiced his willingness to serve <br />on a committee to preserve historic properties in the City. Assistant City <br />Manager Balser explained there will be a meeting on Wednesday, January 9, at <br />the Boulder Valley School District, where the Louisville Middle School Historic <br />Facade will be discussed. <br />Mayor Sisk stated he will appoint a committee of six to discuss preservation of <br />the City's historic buildings at the January 15, 2008 meeting. <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br />THE AGENDA <br />Mayor Sisk thanked Councilors for taking their time to meet with the elected <br />officials at the Legislative Breakfast. He announced former Governor Romer will <br />speak at a business meeting on Friday morning. <br />Councilor Sackett asked if thE~ public will be able to speak on issues relative to <br />US 36. He stated his understanding there is a plan to widen US 36 to the north, <br />which would impact the Coal Creek golf course. Assistant City Manager Balser <br />reported on the process that will be followed during the next year. She noted his <br />concerns relative to the golf course were included in the Staff comments on the <br />Environmental Impact Statement draft. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br />City Manager Fleming reported on the following items: <br />• Kathy Martin was appointed as Interim Parks and Recreation Director. <br />• Executive Assistant to the City Manager Debbie Borelli reviewed the risk <br />management reports and was able to bring down the cost of the property <br />and liability insurance coverage by $36,000. <br />• The City of Louisville received the Town of Superior's $105,000 Library <br />contribution. <br />• There will be a joint City Council/LRC meeting on Monday, January 14, <br />2008. City Manager Fleming hand-delivered the packets to Council. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />DECEMBER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br />
