There was a CSU -hosted tour of the weed -control study at Davidson Mesa for
"practitioners" (mostly government employees and private range managers). 170 people
attended. They looked at the effectiveness of different herbicides alone and in
combination on different plots. They will also create a similar tour for citizens, to be
announced soon.
Other events since the previous meeting include: a "Pulling for Colorado" event, a
"Wildlife Detectives" event, and a "Walking with the Mayor" event.
Upcoming events include: a Wildflower hike at Davidson Mesa (8/10), and a
Colorado Birds of Prey program (10/5).
B. Helen suggested that the
board would like to see and review those key indicators at the next meeting.
C. Staff is still closing out spring/summer programs. Staff surveys have found
and pulled a small amount of purple loosestrife, mostly on the golf course.
D. A citizen weed -pull on Bullhead Gulch is being organized with an adjacent
HOA.
