Cityot <br />im Louisville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />BUSINESS RETENTION AND <br />DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br />SUBJECT: <br />DATE: <br />BRAD COMMITTEE MISSION STATEMENT DISCUSSION <br />SEPTEMBER 5, 2017 <br />PRESENTED BY: AARON DEJONG, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />Following the August meeting discussion about prioritizing topics to tackle for the BRaD <br />Committee, there was interest in forming a mission statement to help in identifying <br />issues that best fall in line with the goals of the group. <br />Below are the duties for BRaD approved by the City Council. <br />B Duties. The role of the Committee will include, but not be limited to, advising <br />the City Council on such matters as: <br />a) Advise staff and City Council on policies and strategies to enable the City to <br />reach its Business Retention and Development subprogram goals and objectives <br />as set forth in the City budget, with such goals and objectives, as in effect from <br />time to time, <br />b) Promote collaboration and communication between the City and the local <br />business community. <br />c) Share insights regarding local economic conditions. <br />d) Serve as a sounding board for City opportunities that can promote economic <br />activity <br />e) Gather information regarding the needs and priorities of businesses with respect <br />to business retention and development issues. <br />f) Recommend and/ or comment on proposed programs related to business <br />retention and development. <br />g) <br />Monitor Economic Prosperity program key indicators and recommend <br />improvements to move toward or reach key indicator targets. <br />Staff would like the Committee to discuss formulating a mission statement to assist in <br />identifying topic and discussion selection and prioritization. <br />5 <br />
