Special Meeting, City Council
June 30, 1984
Page 9
Johnson: To keep this from getting too complicated, just say new
lawns watered daily 3 wE~eks from today. The 3rd week of July, every-
one would be on Ward day restrictions.
Lengthy discussion. Brief summary called for by Kasch on the flip
chart, ie, construction trucks, bulk water, will they be shut off?
Yes. More discussion followed as council and Kasch put into detail
the actual Ward days wai;ering schedule.
Finally: Monday, Ward 2 and 3, 6 AM to 8 AM
Monday, Ward 1, 7 PM to 9 PM
Tuesday, no watering
Numbers for Wards were drawn at random with the following results:
Wednesday, July 4, Ward 3, 6 AM to 9 AM OR 7 PM to 10 PM
Thursday, July 5, Ward 2, 6 AM to 9 AM OR 7 PM to 10 PM
Friday, July Ei, Ward 1, 6 AM to 9 AM OR 7 PM to 10 PM
Saturday, NO watering
New Lawns: Water every day, 11 AM to 1 AM
Regarding gardens: same hours would apply, however, any guidelines
or hints which will assiist will be sent along to those citizens.
"Water Conserving Guidellines" booklet will be sent out early next
week.
July 21, 1984 - date sei; for last of daily watering for new lawns.
Put mortarium on all new lawns until Fall.
Luce asked how many people came in to get a building permit Friday?
Wurl said apparently thE~ only one was Calvin Orman.
Luce: I would like to <.>ubmit to council to consider waiving the fee
increase for Mr. Orman at the time he does obtain a permit, and that
those restrictions be liifted in his case. The increase goes into
effect Tuesday, July 3rd. My sympathy is with the individual, not
with corporations who buy 100 permits. If he has a loan, obviously
that loan has been secured in the last several weeks, and if he came
in on Monday, I believe we should make an exception.
Curt: Perhaps it would be better to deal with this when the ordinance
goes into effect, and then deal with it at that time which would be
council meeting next Tuesday, July 3rd.
Motion 6y Mayor to adopt the water restrictions system as presented
on the fact sheet (as above. Seconded by Leary. All in favor.
Motion carried unanimously.
Luce: I don't want to send out any more notices without signatures
on the notice.
Motion by Luce to adjourn. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
Adjournment time: 12.45 PM.
