Kasza stated that they would be coming <br />Parking back to Council at the July meeting with <br />some suggestions that they would like to do <br />this summer and one of those would be the <br />possibility of one way streets and diagonal <br />parking, as well as a public signage system... <br />directing people to the new parking lots <br />within the City. They will get with the <br />Public Works Department to get their input <br />or.~ the s ignage . <br />Councilman Leary suggested that the Colacci <br />parking lot be limited to 2-hour parking, <br />when the other parking lots are built. Does <br />Council have to take an action to make that <br />happen; has that been studied? <br />Ms. Kasza stated this was something else that <br />would be discussed with the Public Works <br />Dept. and in the near future they would <br />be coming back with a full presentation. <br />This evening just the financial aspect of <br />the project was being presented since Council <br />is in the midst of the 1985 budget,consider- <br />ations. She also commented that if one- <br />way streets were designated with diagonal <br />parking an additional 35 more spaces could <br />be added at a very low cost. <br />Councilman Cussen Inquired with regard to parking, would their <br />study also look at the differentiation of <br />time zones. <br />Ms. Kasza stated that it would; this was ' <br />one of the strong recommendations that came <br />from the Parking Task Force that 2-hour <br />restrictions be placed on all or a portion <br />of the municipal parking lot as well as <br />the side streets. As a part of that City <br />employees were encouraged to park out of <br />the municipal lot and immediate area <br />Councilman Leary Commented he would assume that at some <br />point in the future, a policy will be developed <br />on residential encroachment for parking pur- <br />poses. Ms. Kasza stated that the Parking <br />Task Force was very concerned about parking <br />in the residential areas and would recommend <br />that the parking not occur. <br />
