Kasza stated that they would be coming Parking back to Council at the July meeting with some suggestions that they would like to do this summer and one of those would be the possibility of one way streets and diagonal parking, as well as a public signage system... directing people to the new parking lots within the City. They will get with the Public Works Department to get their input or.~ the s ignage . Councilman Leary suggested that the Colacci parking lot be limited to 2-hour parking, when the other parking lots are built. Does Council have to take an action to make that happen; has that been studied? Ms. Kasza stated this was something else that would be discussed with the Public Works Dept. and in the near future they would be coming back with a full presentation. This evening just the financial aspect of the project was being presented since Council is in the midst of the 1985 budget,consider- ations. She also commented that if one- way streets were designated with diagonal parking an additional 35 more spaces could be added at a very low cost. Councilman Cussen Inquired with regard to parking, would their study also look at the differentiation of time zones. Ms. Kasza stated that it would; this was ' one of the strong recommendations that came from the Parking Task Force that 2-hour restrictions be placed on all or a portion of the municipal parking lot as well as the side streets. As a part of that City employees were encouraged to park out of the municipal lot and immediate area Councilman Leary Commented he would assume that at some point in the future, a policy will be developed on residential encroachment for parking pur- poses. Ms. Kasza stated that the Parking Task Force was very concerned about parking in the residential areas and would recommend that the parking not occur.
