6/5/84 Page -25- <br />wilthin the Scripps/Howard group. The <br />deltails still have to be worked out, and <br />Council has to be very clear on where they <br />want to go. We need to start now - getting <br />initerest together by advertising on Cable, <br />in the Louisville Timee that this training <br />is available now. They are waiting for <br />8-.10 People to set up the training program. <br />Boulder County Nudlear War This Committee is holding its June meeting <br />Education Committee in Louisville and during that meeting they <br />arcs planning to put together a special <br />presentation and she personally invited our <br />cii~izens and council to attend. It will <br />be a videotape called nuclear stategy for <br />beginners; is an hour long film. The film <br />de:~cribes the development of nuclear weapons <br />from the beginning; the possibilities of <br />nuclear war; and what problems there are in <br />avoiding nuclear war. This will be June 11th <br />at 7:00 P.M. in the Council Chambers. <br />Meeting with Mayor's Task Force <br />Mayor Meier advised that he had set up a <br />study session with the Mayor's. Task Force <br />for Thursday, June 7th at 7:30 P.M. in <br />Council Chambers. <br />Councilwoman Johnson Stated that she had numerous complaints <br />Weed Control about weed control passed 6'" - not only <br />thc: City areas but also residents yards. <br />Director Hioco stated that all city property <br />should be completed by tomorrow. <br />Mr:~. Johnson stated two of the areas were <br />behind her home and Heritage Park. <br />Pine Street Councilwoman Johnson also had received a <br />complaint about the old street and the <br />new street on Pine. Why is it taking so <br />long for the repair.? <br />Director Kasch stated that they are nego- <br />tiating an agreement with the resident that <br />li~Tes on the corner of Johnson and Pine. <br />Because of the complexity of the retaining <br />wa:11, trees, and the sidewalk that is supposed <br />to go through there, they are trying to get <br />thc~ job done. McStain is responsible for <br />the work, but the problem with the resident <br />must be resolved first. McStain will be <br />removing and rebuilding that entire width <br />from where that new pavement stops. <br />
