5/1,/84 Page -10-
Administrator Wurl 5tai:ed he felt we were being set-up and
reii~erated first o~f all we wanted to know
specifically what the request is. What
werE, they asking the City for? A 3/4"
watE.r tap or a 4" fire line, this has
never been clear?
Mr. Silverstein stated that the reason it
wasn't clear is that Mr. Trousil had not
hired a consultant and he didn't think the
definition of what was required was clearly
set forth. Whatever the language is, Mr.
Trousil wants to sprinkle his building.
Mr. Wurl inquired who is requiring him to
do i~his? Whose language was he trying to
accomodate?
Mr. Silverstein stated no one is requiring
than. If the City would grant water - if
it ]zas to be a tap or has to be a fire line,
whatever it takes to operate a sprinkler
system to his facility.
Adm:inistrator Wurl stated that before Council
can take any action he thought they need to
know specifically - are you going to put up
the money for the outside fee for a 4" fire
line.
Mr. Silverstein stated if the City requires
that - yes.
Mr. Wurl stated that presently we do not have
a provision for a 4" fire line. His concern
was that we are laying out something here
that we really don't know what the council
is addressing.
Motion to Table the Request Mayor Meier moved that this item be tabled
until more discussion is held with the City
Attorney and Director Karl Kasch. Council-
woman Morris seconded the motion.
Councilman Leary Stated that are a lot of facts that won't
change, i.e. the property is not in the urban
services area; .that the facility is on land
that is designated in our Comprehensive Plan
as open space, and it is outside our City
limits.
Mayor Meier commented that if Council chose
to grant or deny the request he would like
the reasons to be specifically spelled out
for legal reasons. This was his reason for
moving that the item be tabled.
Councilman Leary requested a recommendation
on this issue from the City Attorney.
