4,/19/84
Page -9-
would want to participate in the joint effort
and although he did not speak with the County
he Belt they would be equally concerned
about participating in something that
is inside the city limits and built on.
Thera he read in the paper that Lafayette
wants to talk with him about it, so maybe
there is some interest there. Mr. Wurl
then explained all the revnues and expendi-
turE~s on the spread sheets he provided Council.
Lafayette/Louisville Buffer In reply to Councilwoman Morris inquiry as
t.o -the status of the Louisville/Lafayette
bugger, Administrator Wurl reported that
Mrs. Holmberg had scheduled a meeting with
all the Boulder County Parks and Open Space
people on May 27th. We made the County aware
of the concerns that Council had when they
reviewed the draft agreement and he had never
had a response from them. It was feeling,
that something concerning these would be
brought out at the meeting.
Permitted Uses for the Pow In answer to Councilman Luce's question,
'ow Property Administrator Wurl stated that should the bank
have to take back the property because of
default the permitted uses of the Pow Wow
property would be recreational uses, i.e.
stadium, rodeo, cemetery, or 8 homes on the
43 acres. Or the possibility of deannexing
from the City and annexing to Lafayette.
ThE,ir City Manager had indicated that Lafayette
would not even consider that-it should be open space.
Ati~orney Rautenstraus advised that there are
some circumstances where the City doen't have
to agree to the deannexation.
Administrator Wurl stated there was a pro-
posal in a very primitive stage to build
elderly housing on the back portion of the
property - annex it to Lafayette to get
utilities, which he considered to be of
enough value that he could buy the Pow Wow
out of their problem. Mr. Wurl felt that
Lafayette would turn that project down.
Councilman Luce Requested that the City Attorney do a pre-
liminary investigation into the question of
de:annexation.
Cc>uncil agreed not to finance the Pow Wow
rE:quest and stay with our original open
s~>ace priority list.
