There
i.s a feeling that if a City does not parti-
cip<~te they will lose out.
Administrator Wurl asked if there would be
jusit one person representing Boulder County
on i~his issue.
Committee to be Formed Mr. Leary advised that the recommendation
that= Commissioner Smith had made would be
than there be 3 representatives - one from
the County - one from the cities, and one
from the Commissioners and it was his belief
that: Mr. Smith would be representing the
Bou]'_der County Commissioners; and one from
the public at large. Commissioner Smith
saici he had someone in mind for that that
woul_dn't be real pro or real anti. The
question was asked at the meeting whose
views will the people on the committee repre-
sent: and Mr. Leary wasn't certain that an
appz•opriate answer had been given. He further
staged that he would characterize the study
as a. corridor identification study., little
time: was spent on need. If the City of Louis-
ville wishes to participate in the study in-
dependent of what anyone else in the County
wanted to do, they could do it. Presently
there is an attempt to try to develop some
type of a Boulder County position on the issue
so that there is some agreement on what we
want. One avenue that we, could take would
be the decision of participation and we would
have to approve some type of study design.
Mr. Leary saw some real problems in partici-
pating in something that is a faulty study
design that is not designed to address the
issues that should be properly addressed in
such a study.
Broomfield's Position In reply to Administrator Wurl's question
Mr. Leary stated that Mrs. Banschbach,
from Broomfield, was rather versiferous
in her opposition. She did support parti-
cipation in the study.
He also stated there was one suggestion that
the City of Longmont represent the cities
because they seem to be in a position of not
having a real ax to grind in this issue;
but 'yet a position that is somewhat consis-
tent.
