This evening was the first
time. that it was brought to his attention.
He did think that we did have to make some
changes in the original contract document
and that never puts the party that is requesrinc_
the changes in a very good position, and that
is one of the circumstances that has occurred
here.
Mr. Cellars stated that the contractor has
been very good in giving them a letter that
he will maintain this road and will be re-
sponsible for the repair of it. He has g<.:_
beyond what the normal expection is in day.
that.
Councilwoman Morris Inquired of Mr. Cellars when he knew that
delineators would be needed for the differer.:~~
of the grade-in-the-road, why he did not in-
form us sooner.
His reply was that they were not consulted when
the change was made and how it was being made
until after they had a call from staff and
said that it was made and to proceed accordingly
He did not feel that it would be a cruical
item. The problem
was that the contractor has temporary con-
struction barricades out there. What we are
talking about will be a semi-permanent sort
of thing, i.e. painting and striping. Be-
cause of the number of vehicles per day and
because of the number of months involved,
it was necessary to do it. He also wanted
Council to be aware that that will not be
the only change order that will come through
due to splitting the contract between 1984-
1985.
