CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT ORDINANCE NO. 848 INCREAS- Councilmembers had a copy of the ordinanceP ING CONSTRUCTION PERMIT Attorney Rautenstraus read it by title only FEES - PUBLIC HEARING on second reading and public hearing, and certified proper publication. Mayor Meier opened the public hearing and Attorney Rautenstraus certified proper puke- cation of the public hearing notice. Staff presentation. Acting City Administrator Rupp had provided Coun.cilmembers with a memo stating after further _investigation of this proposal, it appears that the new permit fee increase wi~~a:z place the City of Louisville approximately~;2% times higher than neighboring cities. As the fees presently stand, we are approximately 1~ t.imes higher. Mr. Rupp also provided illustrations of the affect of the permit increase. He also stated that many developer..°s he had discussed ~fhis proposal with had voic~>> their concerns with the increase and believe the City of Louisville will place itself in a competitive disadvantage for attracting new Commercial/Industrial base if it is approved. It wras his recommendation that this ordinance be dllayed for additional study. Representatives of McStain Enterprises and Homa~rt Development Co. had made information available to Council expressing their concerns pert;inept to this ordinance.
