Motion carried unanimously. <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br />ORDINANCE NO. 848 INCREAS- Councilmembers had a copy of the ordinanceP <br />ING CONSTRUCTION PERMIT Attorney Rautenstraus read it by title only <br />FEES - PUBLIC HEARING on second reading and public hearing, and <br />certified proper publication. <br />Mayor Meier opened the public hearing and <br />Attorney Rautenstraus certified proper puke- <br />cation of the public hearing notice. <br />Staff presentation. <br />Acting City Administrator Rupp had provided <br />Coun.cilmembers with a memo stating after <br />further _investigation of this proposal, it <br />appears that the new permit fee increase wi~~a:z <br />place the City of Louisville approximately~;2% <br />times higher than neighboring cities. As <br />the fees presently stand, we are approximately <br />1~ t.imes higher. Mr. Rupp also provided <br />illustrations of the affect of the permit <br />increase. He also stated that many developer..°s <br />he had discussed ~fhis proposal with had voic~>> <br />their concerns with the increase and believe <br />the City of Louisville will place itself in <br />a competitive disadvantage for attracting new <br />Commercial/Industrial base if it is approved. <br />It wras his recommendation that this ordinance <br />be dllayed for additional study. <br />Representatives of McStain Enterprises and <br />Homa~rt Development Co. had made information <br />available to Council expressing their concerns <br />pert;inept to this ordinance. <br />PUBLIC HEARING CO NrINUED Mayor Meier moved, Councilman Cussen secondz_=.? <br />that: the public hearing on Ordinance No. ~~`' <br />Increasing Construction Permit Fees be corx~~° <br />tinged until Janaury 15, 1985. <br />Mayor Meier requested that the staff meet <br />witki the representatives of McStain Enter- <br />prises and Homart Development Co. on what <br />effect these increases would have on commercial, <br />industrial development and provide Council <br />
