10/16/84
Page -21-
Also that the bid be awarded to Pete Honnen
Equipment for the backhoe in the amount of
$33,671.00.
B1bS AWARDED Councilman Cussen moved, Councilman Luce
seconded that bids be awarded to .Western
States Industries Ltd in the amount of
$15,194.60 for the sewer jet; and Pete
Honnen Equipment Co. in the amount of
$33,671.00 for the backhoe.
Councilwoman Morris Requested that our City Administrator direct
our staff when putting out bids to specify
only those that will meet our needs
that we can truly look at what the bids mean,
and the specs are clear enough so that Council
does not have to go into the process of evalu-
ating that, other than the lowest bidder.
Acting City Administrator Rupp stated that
he agreed and could only say that $90,000
was placed in the budget for these two pieces
of equipment and with both of these, it is
considerably less than that. But he would
pass the request on to the Public Works Dept.
vote on the Motion All in favor. .Motion carried unanimously.
CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS Acting City Administrator Rupp remarked he
felt that Christmas decorations needed to be
discussed - where do we want these; and to
what extent? For example do we want the
decorations to go from Hiway 42 west all the
way along South Boulder Road, all the way to
McCaslin, or just along sections? These de-
cisions need to be made because Public Ser-
vice is asking us when they install the lights
should they put in the little adapter or
not. If it is done when they initially install
the lights it is $25; if it is done later it
is $75. Mr. Rupp also stated the reason it
had come to staff's attention was because of
the area just west of Hiway 42 to the RR
tracks. There are 8 poles and it will involve
$75 per pole.
NEW WATER TRANSMISSION LINE Acting City Administrator Rupp had provided
councilmembers with a map depicting where a
new water transmission line will be installed
and the areas that would be effected by low
water pressure. The proposal was to make the
connection between the hours of 11:00 P.M.
