10/16/84 Page -23-
losing on Steinbach Councilwoman Morris commented that she was
Property disappointed that we missed the closing on
the Steinbach property. It was her under-
standing that there would be formal signing
and ceremony. However, since this was not
the case, she would like us to look into a
specific date and time when we can get to-
gether with the County and City of Boulder
and make that all official as far as the
ceremony.-- is concerned.
Mr. Rupp stated that he didn't think the
ceremony was dead
Director Hioco stated at the closing that they
did not want to make it ceremony as there
were some items that they didn't. want to have
a lot of comments made and prolong the clos-
ing and signing of the contract. It was his
understanding that the ceremony would be set
at a later date. He also stated that he would
be meeting with the County and City of Boulder
next week in an effort to establish a firm
date for the ceremony. It maybe a possibility
that 3 dates will be suggested and if Council-
members can get the information back to him
on which date is convenient, he would try to
have a firm date by next council meeting.
Special Transit System Councilwoman Morris inquired if councilmembers
had received a letter from the Spe vial Transit
System. Mr. Hioco stated he provided these
to Mayor and councilmembers in their mail boxes.
Councilwoman Johnson Commented - tell Mr. Rickman she didn't have
any signs. Mr. Rupp stated that they had been
ordered.
Councilman Leary Commented on the crossing guard issue - is
Crossing Guards someone working on that so that starting in
January they will be hired?
Director of Public Safety Leesman stated that
his department had been contacting other places
that are training these people and getting
their input into it. He also stated that there
have been a couple mothers that have volunteered
their services.
Mr. Leary asked if we have money to start that
process sooner - would like a report on this
at the next meeting.
snow Removal Councilman Leary commented that he had received
compliments this time and not a single call
complaining about snow plowing and felt staff
