10/1C/84 Page -10- <br />preliminary approval to the document tonight <br />with an agenda item for authorization for the <br />Mayor to sign the Agreement at the next meet- <br />ing and make a special effort to invite public <br />comment. <br />Mrs. Holmberg stated that she would present <br />the proposed changes to the County Commissioners <br />at their October 30th meeting and hopefully <br />the formal signing of the Agreement can be <br />made by all involved parties by the second <br />week in November. <br />Preliminary Approval Councilman Luce moved, Councilman Cussen <br />seconded that the Intergovernmental Agree- <br />ment be approved as a preliminary item, to <br />be brought back at the next Council meeting <br />to include public comments. All in favor. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilwoman Morris Inquired of Mrs. Holmberg if she knew when <br />Steinbach Property the signing of the agreement on the Steinbach <br />property would :be. <br />Mrs. Holmberg stated that the closing was yes- <br />terday afternoon, and felt that the formal <br />signing of the document would be at the option <br />of the Council and the Boulder County Commission- <br />ers. <br />Mayor Meier thanked Mrs. Holmberg for her <br />diligence in working on the Agreenment for <br />everyone involved; also expressed his appre- <br />ciation for her patience in this lengthy pro- <br />cess. <br />DISCUSSION - ANNEXATION Acting City Administrator Rupp stated they <br />REQUEST TO BROOMFIELD had provided a map showing the Louisville <br />(U.S. 36 AND 96TH ST.) city limits and the proposed annexation to <br />Broomfield. The total acreage of the pro- <br />posed annexation is 585 acres. Mr. Rupp stated <br />that he had an opportunity to meet with the <br />various planning directors in Boulder County <br />last Friday in Longmont and this annexation <br />request was discussed. The Planning Director <br />from the County as well as some of the other <br />directors had some concern and had asked Broom- <br />field about their posture in this particular <br />request. Dennis Wigert indicated that it is <br />now k>eing moved forward to the City Council <br />and nothing has been finalized at this point. <br />Mr. Rupp asked Mr. Wigert for his suggestion <br />if there could be some communications opened <br />
