9/4/84 Page -14- <br />Mayor Meier stated that he did not know <br />how many people had planned to put in new <br />lawns but did not think it would effect <br />the system this year however next year there <br />maybe a greater impact. Director Hioco <br />and other entities have stated the best <br />time to plant a new lawn is this time of <br />year. Therefore, he requested that Council <br />consider removing the new lawn moratorium. <br />New Lawn Moratorium Lifted Councilman Leary moved, Councilman Fauson <br />seconded that the new lawn moratorium be <br />lifted. <br />Councilman Luce Requested that the Director of Community Ser- <br />vices provide information relative to the <br />types of grasses that can be planted to con- <br />serve water and best methods of irrigating <br />to new homeowners and the developers before <br />they do their landscaping. <br />Councilwoman Morris Suggested that the Homeowners Associations <br />of the various subdivisions be contacted <br />in regard to this information. Also <br />the slide show that we taped can be shown <br />to them or checked out to them to be shown <br />at their meetings. ~ _ _ <br />Vote on the Motion All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Councilman Luce moved, Councilwoman Morris <br />seconded that City Council instruct the <br />staff to make arrangements with the major <br />developers to include in closing materials <br />where possible information relating to <br />water conservation :for landscaping. <br />All in favor.
