9/4/84 Page -4-
The City of Boulder has approved the authori-
zation to proceed with this .purchase at their
August 21st meeting; and Boulder County also
approved purchase at their August 29th meet-
ing. The City's share of the purchase price
$157,333 would be 1/3 rd of the total pur-
chase price of $472,000.
Attorney Rautenstraus advised that there
was nothing specific for Council to act
on this evening as far as an agreement or
authorization for the Mayor to sign. It
would seem that if the terms and conditions
as set forth in the letter from Mr. Crain
of the City of Boulder were basically accept-
able then it would be best if Council would
give authority to Mr. Rupp or himself or
both to have discussions with the County
and City of Boulder as far as getting to-
gether a 3-way agreement to get this tied
down.
AUTHORIZATION GRANTED Councilman Leary moved, Councilwoman Morris
seconded that Acting City Administrator
Rupp and City Attorney Rautenstraus be
authorized to have discussions with
the County and City of Boulder to work out
a 3-way agreement for the purchase of the
Steinbach property.
At the request of Mayor Meier, Director
of Financial Services Asti-Caranci stated
the funds for the purchase would come from
the Water Fund - line item - Land which
had a remaining balance of $159,000. This
money comes from the tap fees and would
depend on how much was collected.
Councilwoman Morris Commented that she spoke with Commissioner
Heath and suggested it might be a nice
symbolic gesture, since this is a precedent
with 3 entities involved, for us to get
together for a formal signing on the day
of the closing. Commissioner Heath suggested
this be done in Louisville and Councilwoman
Morris felt .this was a great idea and felt
that addtional ideas by Council and staff
be correlated for the ceremony.
