8/21/84 Page -10-
with the normal billing cycle and that those
consumption figures be added to the monthly
report. This would give a more accurate
figure on total usage and break down of those
usages in connection with further water needs.
He estimated the cost for a 2" tap normally
needed for parks would be $200 and would
give us a very good handle on how much water
is being used. It also .helps to better iden-
tify how much leakage occurs in the system.
Mayor Meier directed staff to get cost esti-
mates on how much it would cost to meter
all. the parks in the City.
POLICY COMMITEE FOR COLORADO Mayor Meier advised that he had received
MUNICIPAL LEAGUE a letter from the Colorado Municipal League
stating that as a member City we have the
opportunity to select or have a volunteer
serve on the CML Policy Committee. He
called upon Councilman Leary to elaborate
on the functions of the committee, since
he had served on it. Also asked if he
wished to continue to serve.
Councilman Leary stated the main function
of the Policy Committee was to review legis-
lation that has come before the Legislature
and make recommendations to the CML Execu-
tive Committee. There are 3-4 meetings a
year. They usually meet on Thursday or
Friday during the day and Councilman Leary
found it very difficult to make the meetings.
He would rather have someone that has the
ability to get away from their work during
the day to volunteer for the Policy Committee.
Acting City Administrator Rupp advised that
the deadline for selecting someone would
be September 14th and the first meeting would
be in October.
Mayor Meier stated that he felt this was
an important committee and since there were
no volunteers requested that Mr. Rupp pro-
vide councilmembers with a copy of the letter
to consider serving.
RECESS Mayor Meier called a recess at 9:10 P.M.
Meeting reconvened at 9:24 P.M.
