There ~dllocations for plant expansion <br />and some for raw water reservoir, which was <br />budgeted in excess in what would be spent this <br />year. He felt confident that for budget purposes <br />the city will not be over expending. <br /> <br />Question of the Motion All members were in favor: the motion carried. <br />Roy Emery Mr. Roy Emery, 650 W. Hawthorne, stated that <br /> his main concern was that his particular lawn <br /> is 5,500 square feet Two hours watering <br />1 last night did not enable him to finish. He <br /> stated that even three hours was not :. enough <br />y~ <br /> ` <br />also the water pressure went way <br /> down. He asked the council to consider the hours <br /> that were given as not being fair. He also stated <br />' that the people who have large lawns cannot get <br /> the watering doq~Z. He asked for an extension for <br /> watering for those that have large lawn and still <br /> have adequate water pressure. He did not want <br /> his neighbors do become angry with him but he <br /> feared that his lawn would die. In that event <br /> he would have to put in a new lawn at a cost of <br /> $3,000. <br />Patrick Fitzgerald Patrick Fitzgerald, representative for Alpine <br /> Water Service of Boulder, stated that his <br /> primary business was to supply various houses <br /> in the Boulder County area with drinking and <br /> household water for their ~istrens. He noted <br /> that they were only allowed to haul treated city <br /> water in their trucks. He stated that there were <br /> approximately 20 homes in the Louisville area <br /> which are filled mn a regular basis. They draw <br /> about 100,000 gallons of water per month from <br /> city fire hydrants to supply these homes. <br />' He stated that on Friday, their permit was <br /> pulled and thus, unable to draw water from the <br /> City. He stated that this is creating a hardship <br /> for those families. This water is strictly for <br /> household use and these people do practice extreme <br /> water conservation as it is very expensive. He <br /> did not feel that their water usage of 100,000 <br /> gallons per month is particularly taxing the <br /> city's system. <br />Fauson Councilman Fauson asked for clarification, relative <br /> to the amount of water bought per month. <br />Fitzgerald Mr. Fitzgerald stated that each family aPnerally <br /> purchases and uses 5,000 gallons of water per month. <br />Meier Mayor Meier stated that the people on the City's <br /> water system have a vested interest and those <br /> that are not on the system do not have vested <br /> interest. Mayor Meier stated that he did not <br /> believe that by trucking the water from Lafayette <br /> or~neighboring area would greatly increase the <br /> cost of the water. Mayor Meier stated that at this <br /> time he'd have to say no. <br />Fitzgerald Mr. Fitzgerald stated that it was his understanding <br /> that many of the homes serviced are actually in <br />i <br />Louisville. <br />Luce Councilman Luce backed up Mayor Meier's statement <br /> and said that the people who have paid tap fees <br /> have first right. <br />Carol Cooley •Qaro.l:vCooley, 903 W. Plum Circle, stated that last <br /> night when they turned on their water at 7:00 P.M. <br /> the; was no water until 12:30 A.M. Since <br /> she has such a large yard she asked if she couldn <br /> legally use the water when water pressure was <br />i available and convient for them. <br />
