South Boulder Road, Louisville, CO, and Ben Milne, 590 <br />Spruce Circle, Louisville, CO addressed traffic issues on the Monarch campus. <br />Hernandez stated Monarch has 1,500 students commuting to the school campus daily. <br />She noted the congestion is compounded by the businesses along Dillon Road and by <br />Avista Hospital. Milne stated many students report problems with the traffic light at <br />Campus Drive. He stated the students are willing to do fundraising projects to assist the <br />City in alleviating the traffic problems. <br /> <br />Brandon Hyman, 924 Pope Drive, Erie, CO, addressed the smoking ordinance in <br />Louisville, which bans all smoking in restaurant eating areas. He proposed the City <br />consider permitting separate ventilated areas to allow smoking in restaurant bars. <br /> <br />Ethan Lowe, 931 Arapahoe Circle, Louisville, CO, addressed the traffic congestion at the <br />intersection of Washington and McCaslin Boulevard. He suggested the City Council <br />consider a traffic signal light at the intersection in the 2005 budget. <br /> <br />Council member Marsella addressed traffic congestion at the Washington and McCaslin <br />intersection and thanked Lowe for bringing the issue to Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk addressed the comments relative to the smoking in restaurant bars and the <br />traffic congestion on Monarch campus and thanked the Monarch students for bringing <br />those issues to the Council's attention. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons addressed the issues of the traffic congestion and the Via Appia <br />Traffic Study. He noted the study specifies the points at which level a traffic signal is <br />warranted. He stated one of the areas of review would be Washington. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk noted the Louisville Middle School is having a fundraiser this weekend. He <br />reported on a high school program entitled Leaders Challenge, in which Monarch High <br />School is a participant. He explained approximately 15 Monarch High School Juniors <br />organized a 5K race and registered 150 individuals.
