Louisville City Council Meeting <br />July 6, 2004 <br />Page 9 of 10 <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked Lair for Staff's determination on how to stay within the budget. Lair <br />stated that ECl has negotiated to remove non-essential items from the project. She noted <br />there are concerns about ground water and decisions were made to mitigate safety issues. <br /> <br />Council member Brown suggested Staff reevaluate the Capital Project budget. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons stated it would be necessary to reconsider the Capital projects to <br />fund the Skate Park. He did not anticipate making significant design changes to the <br />project. He recommended Council direct Staff to renegotiate the agreement and evaluate <br />the Capital Project budget. <br /> <br />Council discussion: Council member Marsella suggested using funds from the T-Mobile <br />agreement. Mayor Sisk reminded Council of the funds derived from the lodging taxes. <br />Council member Levihn stated other projects could be delayed. Council member Brown <br />stated the lighting of the Skate Park is essential. <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that Council direct Staff to re-negotiate the ECI Site <br />Construction Management contract with the alternates, seconded by Council member <br />Levihn. <br /> <br />Council member Brown offered a friendly amendment that Staff be directed to pursue <br />additional funding for the project. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk and Council member Levihn accepted the amendment. <br /> <br />VOTE: All in favor. The vote was 5-0. Council members Van Pelt and Clabots were <br />absent. <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br /> CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons requested Staff reports. <br /> <br />Planning Director Paul Wood reported on the progress of the citywide Comprehensive <br />Plan Amendment, and the Open House conducted on June 30th. <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd reported on the Capital Improvement Projects: <br />Highway 42 Project; South 88thStreet/Campus Drive Project; Water Reuse Project; and <br />Police/Court Facility. <br /> <br />Council member Keany requested the project reports clarify whether the projects are in <br />design or construction phase. <br /> <br />9 <br /> <br /> <br />
