Staff is trying to coordinate with them about the material they have removed. <br />H. Work continues on the trail app in development with Boulder County. <br />I. OSAB signed a card for Polly Boyd, who is retiring. <br />J. The COSA conference for regional open space land managers is next week. <br />K. Staff is working on improving communications to citizens who are concerned <br />and want announcements about herbicide use in the City. <br />L. Joe shared his plans for a City ceremony to celebrate the Mayhoffer property <br />purchase. He passed out an information sheet about the purchase and its history. He <br />thanked OSAB for its consistent advocacy about this land. He also expressed his <br />gratitude to the City Council, the City of Lafayette, Boulder County, and Louisville City <br />staff. He also mentioned that the City has a chance for acquisition of the Centennial <br />farmhouse at the site sometime in the future. The County will be taking the lead in the <br />maintenance of the property. The mineral and water rights to the land were also acquired <br />in this transaction. Joe inquired about interest in planning a tour/celebration for the <br />partners (City of Lafayette and Boulder County). Ember suggested having the event <br />located at the Aquarius trailhead, as it overlooks the property and has a parking lot. <br />Board members agreed that they would like a celebration and volunteered to help. Fiona <br />asked for updates about management choices for the land, as these decisions get made. <br />VI. Board Updates - <br />A. Helen announced a Walk with the Mayor planned for September 23th at <br />Damyanovich Open Space. <br />B. Mike has been meeting with Keaten from the Parks Board. The Parks Board <br />would like to explore the idea of a new dog facility for some of the land at Mayhoffer. <br />Mike suggested that he would only want to consider this idea if it meant lessening the <br />impact on the Davidson Mesa Dog Off -leash Area (DOLA) and only if would be located <br />on already -heavily impacted land. Jeff said that the IGA would have to be worked out <br />with both the City of Lafayette and Boulder County. Laura expressed concern about <br />maintenance issues between the three municipalities, especially since the Davidson Mesa <br />DOLA has turned out to be so maintenance -heavy. Graeme said the only circumstance <br />under which he would consider this idea would be if the Davidson Mesa DOLA were to <br />be closed. Mike will report back the concerns of OSAB to PPLAB. <br />C. Fiona reported that she met a woman who visits the Davidson Mesa DOLA <br />every morning and picks up multiple dog piles each time. <br />VII. Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda - <br />A. No public attended. <br />VIII. Discussion Item: 2018 Open Space and Parks Fund Overview- Presented by: <br />Kevin Watson, Director of Finance <br />The goal of Kevin's talk was to provide OSAB with an overview about the budget <br />of the Open Space and Parks Fund (OS&P Fund), which is fed by a voter -approved tax. <br />This was the same presentation that City Council got on its budget retreat. The analysis <br />included projected revenue for the OS&P Fund out to 2021, based on Sales, Consumer <br />Use, Auto Use, and Building Use tax projections.
