Historical Commission <br />Minutes <br />September 14, 2017 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />Commission. These 2 to 4 questions will give the City Council more information to <br />make its decisions. The Commission suggested the additional question: "Describe <br />your experience with the Historical Museum or its programs." <br />VIII. Report from the Museum Coordinator <br />A. Approval of Deeds of Gifts from donors: <br />The Commission voted to accept the following 7 donations: <br />1. Aline Steinbaugh — original photos and other items relating to the Steinbaugh <br />Hardware business and Louisville High School; additional items relating to <br />Louisville history. <br />2. Edward Domenico — two original photos showing Louisville public school classes <br />in the 1930s. <br />3. Isabelle Hudson — digital photo of her father, William Thirlaway, during his <br />World War I service. <br />4. Maureen Cater Kahl — cheerleader megaphone that she used as a member of <br />the Class of 1967 at Louisville High School. <br />5. Beverly Smith — materials from the 50th class reunion of the Class of 1956 from <br />Louisville High School; Louisville Centennial Coin from 1978; vintage game items <br />for the education collection. <br />6. Hamlington Family — photo of a house taken by Louisville photographer William <br />Schutz and 1918 rabbit pedigree document relating to a Louisville family. <br />7. Robert Tofte — 2016 yard sign for the Recreation 1 Senior Center & Memory <br />Square Pool Expansion ballot issue. <br />B. Advice sought on donations of other artifacts being offered: No advice sought <br />C. Museum Coordinator's written report: Bridget reported that Museum staff member <br />Megan Huelman is resigning for a new opportunity. The City recently photographed the <br />Hecla Casino building. This answered a question the Commission asked in a prior meeting <br />as to whether the City documents historical buildings around Louisville before demolition. <br />Also, progress is being made in more of Bridget's historical building reports becoming <br />available online. <br />IX. Update on process for conceptual design of new Visitor Center building: <br />A. Review of July 25th Study Session with City Council: Roybal made changes from <br />their original designs of the Museum building provided from public comments.
