Beth also pointed out that <br />Louisville is part of a larger consortium that provides access to electronic books, with Louisville <br />being a net borrower. Consortium members contribute financially based on their circulation. <br />Richard asked about use of print materials and the cost per item circulated for downloadable <br />versus print. Beth did not have that information but will provide it to the Board as soon as <br />possible. <br />8) Ongoing Business <br />A. Louisville City Council update (A. Stolzmann) <br />Ashley reiterated that the focus of Council continues to be on a City Manager recruitment <br />process and the budget. Other items upcoming for Council: <br />• Update on the City's noise ordinance <br />• Boulder County Affordable Housing Summit on Sept. 29 <br />• Several members of Boulder City Council believe that other communities are not <br />doing their fair share to achieve affordable housing goals <br />• Louisville City Council will meet to determine a strategy for the summit <br />• The City of Louisville is spending 6.7% of the capital budget on housing in the <br />Kestrel Community <br />• Updating the wireless code <br />• The City currently does not comply with state or federal law <br />• There are ongoing complaints about service <br />• Balancing needs for service with infrastructure requirements for towers <br />B. Superior Board of Trustees update (S. Hammerly) <br />Sandie noted that although she had missed its most recent meeting, the Superior Town Board <br />continues to focus on the Superior Town Center: <br />• The first phase of residential development is sold out <br />• Commercial development is lagging <br />Sandie praised the Library Board and Library staff for their efforts at the Superior Chili Fest, <br />which she noted is the biggest community event of the year. She also praised the success and <br />impact of the Library's Summer Reading Program on Town of Superior children, as illustrated <br />by statistics provided in the Board's meeting packet. She will share that information with the <br />Town of Superior Board of Trustees. <br />Sandie also explained that the Town's Planning Commission has been working on traffic issues, <br />including strategies to slow traffic on McCaslin Road.Sandie also explained that the Town's <br />Planning Commission is focused on McCaslin Road traffic congestion issues, as well as <br />residential housing are considered affordable. The Superior Marketplace may provide some <br />options in the future. <br />Sandie was asked how Superior residents were responding to the new, 24-hour book drop. She <br />noted that comments have been very positive so far. <br />
