Louisville City Council Meeting <br />August 17, 2004 <br />Page 7 of 8 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1454, SERIES 2004 - AN ORDINANCE RATIFYING A <br />CHANGE OF THE NAME OF THE LOUISVILLE URBAN RENEWAL <br />AUTHORITY - 1st reading - set Public Hearing 9/7/04 <br /> <br />MOTION: Mayor Sisk moved that Ordinance No. 1454, Series 2004 be published and a <br />public hearing be set for September 7, 2004, seconded by Council member Brown. <br /> <br />VOTE: All in favor. Council member Clabots was absent. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Attorney Light reported on the Hoyle litigation, and stated a stipulating motion was <br />filed today regarding the dismissal of the case. He stated agreement was reached with the <br />plaintiff on their fees, which total $2,114.41. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked Council if they had any objections to the settlement of the Hoyle <br />litigation and authorizing payment of plaintiff's legal fees not to exceed $5,000.00. <br />There were no objections. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons reported on the McCaslin Interchange Agreement with <br />Superior. He stated an agenda item for the August 24 study session would be the <br />Community Park. He announced a Library Committee meeting scheduled for the <br />morning of Wednesday August 18 in the City Council Chambers. <br /> <br />Deputy City Manager Julie Boyd announced vacancies on the Arts and Humanities and <br />on the Historic Preservation Boards. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Council member Keany announced the DBA will conduct a special meeting to review the <br />Historic Preservation Ordinance and the Comprehensive Plan. The meeting is scheduled <br />for Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at 8:30 a.m., at 917 Front Street. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk asked if Council desires to conduct a study session on Tuesday August 31, <br />2004. Council member Keany suggested the date be reserved if a budget meeting was <br />necessary. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk reminded Council that school would soon be in session. He reported the 88th <br />Street improvements have been completed and the artificial surface has been installed at <br />Monarch High School ball field. He also reminded Council of their desire to meet with <br />the principals of Louisville schools. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br /> <br />
