Louisville City Council Meeting <br />October 5, 2004 <br />Page 8 of 9 <br /> <br />Eva Kosinski, 1301 Jackson Court, Louisville, CO compared the cost of Highway 42 <br />Revitalization Project, and stated the money goes to the developers. She noted open <br />government comes directly to the citizens. <br /> <br />Pat Hornbostel, 655 W. Hawthorne Street, Louisville, CO voiced his appreciation and <br />thanks to the City Council and Staff. <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT <br /> <br />No items to report. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORT <br /> <br />City Manager Bill Simmons requested a staff report on the capital projects. Deputy City <br />Manager Julie Boyd updated Council on the following Capital Projects: <br /> <br />· SH 42/S. 96th Street Connection Project <br />· McCaslin Interchange Improvements <br />· Community Park Design Services <br />· Skate Park Construction <br />· Recreation/Senior Center Building Improvements Projects <br />· Arts Center Bell Tower Project <br />· Callahan Trail & Reclamation <br />· Louisville Public Library Building <br />· New Library General Contractor <br />· City Hall Remodel <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk inquired as to the progress on the skate park project. Public Works Director <br />Tom Phare reported his staff had some concerns relative to the drainage on the site. City <br />Manager Bill Simmons noted several rainy days slowed down the project, however Staff <br />met with the project manager and the project is back on track. <br /> <br />City Manager Simmons requested a Staff report on the McCaslin Interim Improvements. <br />Assistant City Manager for Governmental Relations Heather Balser reported the estimate <br />for the McCaslin Interim Improvements has increased from $70,000 to $110,000. The <br />Superior Board of Trustees voted not to exceed the amount of $110,000, and the <br />throwaway costs not exceed 10%. Public Works Director Tom Phare stated the areas <br />removed under the improvements should not affect the throwaway cost, as the curb and <br />gutters would be replaced. The additional cost included medians in Louisville and <br />Superior. <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested a letter from the engineering contractor that the throwaway cost not <br />exceed 10%. <br /> <br /> <br />
