Louisville City Council Meeting <br />October 5, 2004 <br />Page 9 of 9 <br />City Manager Bill Simmons reported on the following: <br /> <br />· October 11, 2004 study session agenda items: 1) Xcel Energy Franchise <br /> Agreement Renewal, and 2) the 2005 budget <br />· Interviews for selection of a Cable Television Franchise Agreement consultant <br />· Downtown Business Association ice skating rink plan and request for funding <br />· Boulder Valley School District letter requesting a contribution for band uniforms <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS AND COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Council member Brown addressed the downtown ice skating rink proposal, and <br />interviews for consultant to assist in the Cable Television Franchise Agreement. He <br />reported meeting with State Representative Tom Plant, who is the new Executive <br />Director for the Center for Resource Conservation. He announced his appointment to the <br />Administration Board at the Denver Regional Council of Government (DRCOG). <br /> <br />Mayor Sisk requested Assistant City Manager for Governmental Relations Heather <br />Balser to report on a new Cable TV Board. Balser reported on the Greater Metro <br />Telecommunication Consortium, which is a board of local governments discussing <br />telecommunication issues. She noted there are 30 local communities in the Denver <br />metropolitan area that are members, including the City of Lafayette. The fee for the City <br />of Louisville would be $1,000 per year, based on the number of subscribers in Louisville. <br /> <br />Keany reported Youth Advisory Board is still short three members from Monarch High <br />School. The members of the Youth Advisory Board will attend a state-wide retreat on <br />October 16 and 17 in Estes Park. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />MOTION: Council member Brown moved for adjournment (8:55 p.m.), seconded by <br />Council member Keany.
